Kappa Sigma Photos

Alumni Golf Tournament

The above photographs were captured at our annual Alumni Golf Tournament which is held at the beginning of every Fall semester. The event consists of a round of golf with active brothers playing against Kappa Sigma alumni. After an afternoon on the green all alumni are invited back to the chapter house on campus for a barbeque. We have a strong working relationship with our alumni base and the entire chapter enjoys seeing the men that were once active undergraduate Kappa Sigmas here at UNC Charlotte.

Athletics

Athletics along with a healthy lifestyle are critical components of Kappa Sigma. As a chapter we compete against other student organizations along with other Greek organizations in a variety of different sports. The above photos were taken at a campus sponsored event labeled "Greek Games" where Kappa Sigma was pitted against several other fraternities and sororities. The winner of the "Greek Games" becomes the proud receipient of a trophy.

Chapter House

In the Fall of 2007, the Kappa Omega chapter of Kappa Sigma was lucky enough to move into a large chapter house in the newly built Greek Village located on the campus of UNC Charlotte. Through the careful management of the chapter's assets, the Kappa Omega chapter of Kappa Sigma has been able to keep this beautiful house available to the brotherhood. Along with a full sized kitchen and an entertainment center, the chapter house has 28 rooms available to the brotherhood.

Within walking distance to class and a private bedroom for each brother the chapter house is easily the best living arrangement on campus. This house is also located alongside several other sorority and fraternity houses which enhances the overall Greek Life experience.

Formal

Every Spring semester the brotherhood of Kappa Sigma at UNC Charlotte has made it a tradition to travel to a nearby city and conduct a "Formal." For the Spring 2009 semester the Kappa Omega chapter of Kappa Sigma made a journey to Charleston, SC. The gorgeous vistas of the southern city provided the perfect escape from the pressures of campus life and allowed the entire brotherhood to enjoy a weekend of fellowship. The above photographs of the Charleston scenery were captured at several points throughout the weekend.

Awards

In one word, Kappa Sigma can be described as "Excellence." Each semester the brotherhood competes against all other Greek organizations on campus for a range of different plaques and trophies. For the Spring 2009 semester, the Kappa Omega chapter of Kappa Sigma was honored with a staggering total of 4 distinct awards.

The chapter received an award for "Excellence in Alumni Relations" which shows our dedication to our valuable alumni who have helped our chapter grow over the years. "Excellence in Academic Programming" was awarded to the chapter for our dedication to Scholarship and our determination for the highest GPA on campus. The coveted "Dean's Award" was handed to our brotherhood for its dedication to campus life and the larger community. Finally, the "Chapter Vision Award" was granted to our chapter because we show the greatest potential for growth and success among Greek Organizations.

As a chapter, we work hard to succeed and surpass our goals and we are extraordinarily proud of our accomplishments!
